The Colts Fundraising Night is fast approaching – FRIDAY 9TH JULY starting at 5pm!!  This event is for all colts and their families.

We need to raise £3,000 in the balance of this year so that we can install an artificial wicket at the top of the square.  As many of you will appreciate, having this facility will make a huge difference to the colts, as it will enable them to play more games at SDCC.

The committee is very aware that the younger age groups do not get the opportunity to play at their home ground as often as we would like, so we hope that we can raise the funds to make this happen.

We have already been granted planning permission by Elmbridge borough Council and the work will be carried out by Notts Sports at a cost of £9,000. We have so far received £4,000 in grants towards the project. Our fundraising activities in April and May brought in another £2,000, leaving us with a final target of £3,000 to be raised by the end of September.

The fundraising committee comprises Vanessa Howorth, Sarah Trower and Jo Patrick.

They will be organising games, stalls and a BBQ.

The fun games are:

* Longest Throw

* Left Handed Bowling at Stumps

* Single Stump Out

* Beat the Goalie  (as usual, these games will be manned by players from our Academy team)

The fun stalls include:

* Decorate your own cupcakes

* Pot Luck

* Guess the Number of Sweets in a Jar

* Lucky Dip

* Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

* Tombola and Raffle
There will also be Exciting Auction prizes kindly donated by our sponsors JLT.
Each age group will be responsible for a particular stall. The committee will allocate a stall to each age group, so volunteers will only need to set up and run it. An email will be sent out shortly with an explanation of what this involves.

ONE LAST THING!
If you can donate any unused gifts for the tombola and raffle, the committee would be very grateful. You can leave donations at the clubhouse on Wednesday and Thursday evenings (6-7pm) or on Saturday and Sunday (9-11am/5-7pm).

The Colts evening is a great opportunity to make a big dent in the £3,000 target for the synthetic wicket and I hope you will all be able to attend the event and make a contribution, no matter how small!
