Match reports from Duncan Stewart…

Friday 11th June – Gladys Chitty match v Esher – Lost by 6 runs

Esher elected to field first, with Stoke reaching 247 in their 16 overs.  Olly top scored with ten with everyone else chipping in a few.  The outfield was large and slow making 4s difficult to come by, (only two scored in the whole match.)  On a positive note, Stoke only lost 3 wickets in their 16 overs compared to Esher’s five.  There’s still work to be done on running between the wickets. The bowling and fielding was much improved from the last game, with some strong bowling figures from Nicholas, Rory, Olly, and a great first over by Matthew. There was also some great keeping from Zach.

The match went right to the wire with Esher needing 5 off the last over, but some strong batting took Esher over the line. A closely fought game and an improved performance bodes well for the next game.

Man of the Match : Olly
