About

About the Club

Stoke D’Abernon Recreation Ground is a pleasant tree-lined setting for cricket matches and coaching practice, bordering the residential area of Blundel Lane/Evelyn Way and the railway line. We play all our home matches in the Surrey Championship and Surrey Trust League and many of our colts matches here at ‘Stoke Rec’. The club has a self-managing lease on the cricket square with overall ground management shared with Elmbridge Council. Our clubhouse is on our own plot of land and we have outdoor practice nets at the top of the ground.

Joining Stoke D’Abernon CC

Stoke’s unique selling points:

  • independent, local single sport club
  • we do not pay overseas players
  • we don’t want to merge or be absorbed into a bigger or multi-sport club

Players joining Stoke will find a friendly atmosphere and a competitive standard of senior cricket, a lot of young talent coming through, and a very pleasant ground.
We also want players to enjoy their cricket and feel part of a successful local club – that inspired Bob Willis 40 years ago, and more recent World Cup Winner Nat Sciver.
We have rapidly expanded at youth level now with 10 age group teams from Under 9 to Under 17, including girls teams.
Our colts structure recognised at Surrey Level as a Focus Club
We were awarded Clubmark status in 2009
Ever improving standard of senior cricket – 1st XI and 2nd XI promoted to the Surrey Championship for 2009; 1st XI promoted from the lowest division to division 1 in successive seasons
Under 21 squad in Surrey Trust League playing the County’s top clubs.
