Early days, but Stoke and Byfleet have clear water at the top of Division 5 as both recorded wins. At the Oxshott Village Sports Ground, Stoke were inserted after a delayed start led to a 46 over contest.

A century by Kingstonian’s premier batsman Khalid, who also helped himself to three wickets, proved decisive as Stoke’s Sunday XI fell to defeat at home to Kingstonian at the Rec.

Another tough week for the team secretary, and the loss of both keeping options after the team was announced made things even more of a puzzle. Nine Stoke players did make it to the ground, their number made up to ten on the day of the match thanks to Danny Douthwaite Snr who made his playing debut for the club. The end product was a fun game, but a narrow defeat.
