Proposed Trust League Rule Changes – Your Views, Please!

The Trust League committee is considering a few rule changes for 2018; notably:

* Fielding Restrictions
* Power Plays
* Free Hits for foot fault no-balls
* Rain affected matches

Trust League Draw and AGM this evening

Tonight the Surrey Trust League AGM will be held at Walton-on-Thames Cricket Club, 7.30pm start.

If anyone wants to go along to get an insight into the League, and help Ralphie with the fixtures, you’re more than welcome.

Over the winter there was some work done to re-format the competition to attempt to raise the standard and reduce the number of mis-matches that have occurred in recent seasons. Based on clubs advertising their prospective strength for 2017, and looking at recent performance in the competition, Stoke have been placed in the highest tier. Here are the list of entrants in each tier and rough details on the format.

Farncombe Withdraw from the Surrey Trust League

This morning Stoke and other clubs in Zone 2 of the Surrey Trust League received this e-mail from Farncombe CC:

It is with deepest regret and sadness that we must announce our immediate withdrawal from the Trust League. With many players on holiday, or otherwise engaged and a 3rd XI to compete with for selection, we simply cannot raise a competitive side or even a side at all for any future fixtures.
