I’ve had 16 seasons at Stoke, (so far), during which time I’ve played alongside hundreds of other players of varying abilities. Selecting the best will always be a matter of judgement so feel free to disagree with my selections – I know some of you will. I’ve decided for the purposes of this list that I have to have played at least 10 games with each player. That way I’ve been able to disregard anyone I’ve just played the odd one or two games with. 1st XI lose to Epsom

Saturday 2nd June 2018
Travelbag Surrey Championship – Division 3
Epsom 206 for 7 declared (50 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 117 all out (30.3 overs)
Epsom won by 89 runs

All of the Stoke 1st XI matches this season have been won by the side batting first and the trend continued at The Rec as another good bowling and fielding display – for some part with a man down – on a generally unresponsive pitch was met with a short second innings. Read more

Bowled Out by a Stoker

This week’s “Ask Steven” feature on CricInfo saw one follower ask:

Which bowler has the best record of hitting the stumps, given a large amount of wickets?

Quick Double Wins for the 1s and 2s

A short day for both League sides; the 1st XI consolidating their position in the promotion places, the 2nd XI doing the necessary and with the three results elsewhere needed to go our way going our way, promotion is back in our own hands again.
