An alert piece of fielding off the last ball of the match saw Farncombe claim a deserved victory to keep themselves in the promotion hunt, and at the same time dent Stoke’s own ambitions of playing Division 4 cricket in 2011. Surrey Trust League Player of the Season

After the team photo was taken on Sunday there was an additional presentation made to Will Gudgeon who was chosen as our Surrey Trust League Player of the Year for the 2009 season.

The winners from each club are presented with a signed bat kindly donated by Surrey CCC, and a Surrey Pro usually does the honours on Finals Day. Sadly Will was unable to attend last year so he received his signed bat from Ralphie, (not a Surrey Pro), after Sunday’s match. Read more

An opening stand of 159 between Hiken Shah, who went on to hit a Stoke career best 110, and returning captain Siddhartha Lahiri, who hit 58, set up a comprehensive eight wicket win over Farncombe at the Rec. Read more
