Another mad day in the life of the Stoke Sunday side but it all worked out in the end!

A sunny day, all the Stokers present and correct, clock ticking towards the point where the opposition should be starting to appear…but no sign of them. A speculative call to them to see how they were getting on was met with a rather surprised voice at the other end suggesting that the fixture was next Sunday. Stoke’s Sunday XI completed a clean sweep of senior cricket victories at the weekend with a successful run chase at The Rec. Lots of familiar faces in the visitors’ line-up when they arrived, but they advertised themselves as “stronger than usual” and hustled Rod Thomson into giving them first use of the strip. Read more

Stoke progressed to the next round of the Surrey Championship T20 with a superb all-round team performance where every player left something positive on the scorecard. By their own admission at the toss the home side “scraped” a team together, but Stoke faced the same challenge, plus the lengthy round trip that included a closed M3 on the way home. Read more
