Stoke progressed to the next round of the Surrey Championship T20 with a superb all-round team performance where every player left something positive on the scorecard. By their own admission at the toss the home side “scraped” a team together, but Stoke faced the same challenge, plus the lengthy round trip that included a closed M3 on the way home. Read more
Stoke’s Surrey Championship T20 tie away to Camberley will be played this coming Tuesday 16th May 2017.
The official start time is 5.45pm, although there is scope to start as late as 6pm in the event of traffic delays.

Yesterday evening the fixtures were arranged for this year’s NatWest Under 19 T20 Blast. The pink match balls were also collected along with other parts of a pack that included stump stickers and 4 & 6 cards, the sort normally given to fans at ODIs. Read more
Stoke have been drawn away to Camberley in the first round of the Surrey Championship T20. The clubs last met at the same stage in 2013.
If we negotiate that we will face a trip to Sunbury, who received a bye into Round 2 as defending champions.

We have received confirmation of our entry into the 2017 Surrey Championship T20 Competition from the League. Applications had to be in by the 20th February 2017, so hopefully we will get news of the draw soon.

We played our usual mix of competitive, friendly and age-group T20 cricket this year.
In senior T20 we recorded a great victory over Valley End in the first round of the Surrey Championship T20 competition, (that gave the 1st XI squad a lot of momentum at the time after an indifferent start to the season), and we went through the next round on a bowl-out before losing to eventual Finals Day participants Weybridge. Sutton Under 17s won by 9 runs
Great relations between Stoke and Sutton were further enhanced as both Clubs got a game on despite Stoke not having enough Under 17s, (due to holidays), to play the original cup tie. The Stokers originally selected, (many well under the age of 17), were supplemented by some senior assistance from Rod, Ralphie and Charlie Thomas. Read more
There is the good news and bad news, writes Rod.
The bad news is that we have been unable to raise a team of eleven Under 17 players for tonight’s cup game against Sutton, and so have had to concede.
The good news is that we suggested that we play a friendly T20 game with a Stoke XI containing a few over-17s/seniors on what is likely to be a very warm and pleasant evening, and the Sutton manager has agreed that this would be a good idea. Read more

Surrey Championship T20 – Round 3
Weybridge 140 for 8 (20 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 68 all out (16 overs)
Despite the result this was a productive workout for Stoke with a number of players short on match-practice due to holidays or participating in short games recently getting overs under their belts, time at the crease and fielding into their legs. Read more
