Stoke 2s had a disappointing day at home against promotion chasing Sinjungrammarians, playing all the way through the rain into the bright sunshine that followed. Having won the toss Crispy decided to make first use of a good looking track, but we were pegged back early on when Peter and JT, (who once again played some attractive strokes), were both out early on. Read more

Stoke 2s stay top with win against Farncombe

Jonny Lawes led Stoke D’Abernon to an 8th victory of the league season.

After acting skipper Falcon won the toss and chose to field; Bondi took a wicket in each of his first 2 overs; the first a simple catch lobbed up to Tufty, the second a ball which beat the batsman for pace as he could only play it on to his off stump. Po was back from injury in his usual place at the railway end, but with a shorter run up and even less pace than we’re used to and nearly had an early wicket too when visiting skipper Paterson was put down off the edge of his bat. Not long afterwards Bondi had a third, thanks to an edge held and Stoke were well in control with Farncombe on 26-3. Read more
