All of the Stoke 1st XI matches this season have been won by the side batting first and the trend continued at The Rec as another good bowling and fielding display – for some part with a man down – on a generally unresponsive pitch was met with a short second innings. Read more

Nat into WBBL Final

What a difference a week or so makes. Going into the last week of the regular season with qualification uncertain, Perth won their final group game against the Melbourne Renegades to make the semi-finals against the Sydney Thunder.

Nat made runs, (she also made runs against the Renegades), took catches and effected a run out to help secure a place on Sunday morning’s final. Read more

Hoppy 4 for 65, Shawn 54 not out

A good Day 1 for Western Province and the Stoke contingent had a big say.

Hoppy bagged 4 for 65 from 17 overs, (Shawn 6-3-21-0), to restrict Durbanville to 196 for 9 in their allotted 60 first innings overs.

In reply, WPCC were going well at 78 for 1, but Shawn found himself at the crease with the scoreboard showing 101 for 6. A century stand and an unbeaten 54 followed, though, to secure the first innings points and a lead of 21 at the end of Day 1. Read more
