Stoke were represented by Rod & Will Thomson and Ralphie & Julie; James Trower came along after work for the food and to discuss selection. A number of friends of Stoke were there; it was nice to catch up with John Milner at Godalming and one or two others. Read more

T20 Friendly
Sutton U17 147 for 8 (20 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 138 for 9 (20 Overs)

2s Lose at Chertsey but Cricket Wins

Saturday 25th June 2016
Travelbag Surrey Championship – Division 4, 2nd XI competition
Chertsey 2nd XI 132 all out (42.3 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 118 all out (39.2 overs)
Chertsey 2nd XI won by 14 runs

In contrast to the disgraceful sequence of events at Sinjungrammarians last weekend, this was a triumph for positivity as both sides started on time, had two early rain breaks that might have had others shaking hands, and played out an exciting encounter. Stoke were again left to rue meeting Chertsey for the second time this season without their Captain, (1st XI call-up), and other members of their preferred XI absent for a variety of legitimate reasons.
