Beer Cleared!

A tremendous turnout yesterday from members, (and many friends & family of members), at all levels of the Club – plus some new faces who will be joining for next year – saw the remainder of the 2016 vintage Asahi demolished.

Six Nations – AND POKER – Saturday 23rd

Last Saturday saw the club open for the Six Nations and a decent turnout saw Ireland and England score early wins.

Pleasing to see some impartial observers with Aussie Greg Routley and South African Mike ‘the Beast’ Carty making the long trip to HQ to say hello and boost the bar takings; the Beast, (pictured below), finally showing his true colours??? Stoke’s Sunday XI lost a thriller at the Rec with all results possible on the final ball.

The visitors chose to bat and registered a total of 207 for 6 from their 40 overs. Brothers Richie and Robbie Parrett appeared in a Stoke side together for the first time since July 2009, and each took two wickets; Richie taking bragging rights with 2 for 33 versus 2 for 45 in their allotted eight over spells. There was a wicket each for Adam Cooke and Rod Thomson. Gregory top scored with 70. Read more
