Occasional but we hope more regular in future Stoker Mike Anstey, father of Toby ‘7 for 7 on Stoke debut’ Anstey, made contact early season to see if we could squeeze his wandering side into their midweek card. Kevin did the rest and both teams played out a fun game. Read more

With the fixture originally carded lost due to the opposition not having a pitch available, and those able to play either day this weekend but not both taking a sensible decision to support the Saturday event, the handful of ‘can play Sunday only’ guys seemed destined to see the start to their season put on hold for a week; but a chance look at the fixture board early Saturday evening saw our friends from Wraysbury advertising that they were stranded for an opposition. Speculative call put in, time given to us to do a ring around and incredibly all bar one who said they could play came back to say they were still keen. We found a couple more and the fixture was agreed…at 9pm the night before Easter Sunday, and we recruited a replacement  player on the morning of the game too! Read more
