Trust League defeat at Walton

While England were hitting Panama for six in Russia, before the World Cup draw was made last winter the Trust League fixture computer got in first and allocated us fixture at Walton-on-Thames. Will T and the Team Sec worked tirelessly through the week to assemble an XI. Thanks to all those who helped with an appearance – we had no game without you. The opposition had an U21 AND a Development Trust XI team to find(!) and with priority going to the U21 League Stoke faced a team of nine. Read more

A new look Sunday XI including a number of exciting prospects from our Academy scored a good win in a match that wasn’t arranged until Saturday morning, then was under threat due to the previous day’s rains. The ground pulled up OK, Hoppy & Shawn reporting early to work on a wet patch to ensure the start was only slightly delayed. Read more

3rd XI lose narrowly at Guildford

Guildford won by 13 runs

Good availability for the League sides provided an opportunity to play an additional friendly match. In the end, numbers fell back after demands for players higher up the chain, another also pulled out two after confirming he was available; but Stoke still managed to get a team of ten and nearly pulled off a great win. Curran Century in Trust League win at Worcester Park

A 65-ball century, (eventually out for 121 off 79), from Alastair Curran helped set up a great win for 10-player Stoke at Worcester Park. (Note not ten-man here as Anya Devon-Berry created a bit of history by being the first female player to play Under 21 Trust League cricket for the Club.) Read more
