2nd XI fall just short in big run chase at Ripley

Ripley 2nd XI won by 32 runs

Stoke’s 2nd XI were back to winning ways with an easy win at Oxshott who continue to re-build and show signs of improvement from last year. Read more

After beating table-topping Guildford City last week, Stoke’s 2nd XI undid that good work with a clumsy home defeat to struggling Alleyn who won the middle over sections of each innings to help them take the points. Read more

A second seven-wicket win in as many weeks consolidated Stoke’s position in the table after ending league leaders Guildford City’s unbeaten record that stretched back to last August. Read more

For 2 weekends in a row this July I was unavailable for cricket due to friends getting married on consecutive Saturdays. I knew this well in advance so I decided to sign up to twitter in order to follow Stoke’s progress in my absence.

1st wedding – Jackson & Jo; ceremony in Lewes, reception near Eridge, East Sussex. Cricket – double fixture against Chertsey; 1s away, 2s home. Read more

Firstly some thank-yous in light of some late call-ups to the Trust League. To Jase Earl, Duncan Elder and Danny Broomfield for making themselves available late in the day to ensure we had a full XI, Danny in particular subbing in for original selection Alfie B! Jo P still provided a sandwich service, and the players themselves hastily added provisions to bulk up the tea. Read more

A superb all-round team performance where all eleven players left something positive on the scorecard saw Stoke’s 2s become the first ever Stoke XI to record a league victory at the Kings College Sports Ground. Read more
