Stoke D’Abernon won on Faster Scoring Rate
After a few near misses Stoke’s 1st XI finally secured promotion to Division 4 with a home win over Alleyn, the victory achieved on run-rate although once the 20 over mark had been reached to constitute a match, Stoke were never behind the target score.

Stoke recorded a vital victory at Haslemere to get their promotion bid back on track.

Maori Oxshott won by 2 runs
The craziest of Division 5s took another twist as Stoke, looking to win to keep their promotion hopes on course and effectively end Oxshott’s, failed to get over the line and in doing so introduced Oxshott themselves to the race for 2nd place, which still has no clear front-runner as the sides immediately above them all lost as well.

An overcast day and a bit of grass on the “deck” made it an easy decision to bowl first on winning the toss, and that’s just what Ian Hopton did standing in for regular captain James Trower.
