Travelbag Surrey Championship Division 3 – 2nd XI Competition
Chessington 2nd XI 252 for 4 (50 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 136 all out (39.5 overs)
Chessington 2nd XI won by 116 runs
Stoke and Chessington have enjoyed some good games over the last few years but a slight lack of depth due to exams and 1st XI call ups meant this one was a bit more one-sided.

Surrey Championship League Dinner time and 17 Stokers made it to The Oval via the pub.
Firstly a thanks to Drew for making this happen for us and it was a shame he wasn’t able to attend an excellent evening himself due to another commitment. A space was kept for the Club Captain…
Whilst the Sunday XI were taking care of business in Thames Ditton, the Colts’ awards were being handed out at HQ.
A good event considering the weather. Approximately 100 turned up, including some brave hungover seniors; Ian Hopton, Shawn Dyson, Dan Gluckman, Tom Frost, Will Frost, James Trower, Max Subba Row, Andy Berry, Jack Raimondo and Charlie Hill.

Cheam 2nd XI 155 all out (49.4 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 156 for 2 (23.1 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI won by 8 wickets
A second commanding performance in as many weeks leaves Stoke’s 2nd XI on the brink of promotion. Cheam started the day in 2nd place in the table but had that spot, and control of their own destiny, taken away from them in emphatic style.

Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI won by 5 wickets
With results going their way last week it was time for Stoke’s 2nd XI to make use of that massive leg-up, and they did so in emphatic fashion with a strong performance against Champions-elect Chessington at the Rec.
A short day for both League sides; the 1st XI consolidating their position in the promotion places, the 2nd XI doing the necessary and with the three results elsewhere needed to go our way going our way, promotion is back in our own hands again.

Including the rain that ended the Claygate all-day game early when nicely poised; the weather has again meant just two positive results in the last nine games at all levels, (and one of those was a win by concession)…
