Better than Yasir Shah?

After Yasir Shah’s 14 wicket haul last week an article appeared on the web, (see foot of this post), suggesting that he is probably going to be the fastest ever to take 200 Test wickets. Stoke went into their final zonal match unable to qualify for either of the semi-final competitions, but they had a direct influence on the final positions in the table as a win over leaders Dulwich would have opened the door for the winners of the Ashtead v Wimbledon match to top the group. Without players’ scores displayed on the board and the scorers tucked safely away in the shade of the Clubhouse, Ollie John was unaware that a six off the final ball of Stoke’s innings would have brought him a first century in any form of cricket. He swatted it over cow for four to finish unbeaten on 99 to help post a total of 211 for 4 in 40 overs after Will Thomson won the toss and elected to bat on a warm afternoon. Read more
