Marienne Spreeth has kindly sent these ones in from last Sunday’s match; in order:
Sunday 3rd July 2016
Friendly
Old Ashfordians 199 for 3 dec (43 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 163 for 8 (40 overs)
Match Drawn
After yesterday’s frustrations with the weather Stoke’s Sunday XI, (well, ten), played out an enjoyable game with the Old Ashfordians where a good declaration led to all results being possible until the last few overs.
Sunday 12th July 2015
Surrey Trust League
Stoke D’Abernon 197 all out (38.1 overs)
Old Whitgiftians 201 for 5 (35.2 overs)
Old Whitgiftians won by 5 wickets
An improved performance with the bat for the Academy, but still a shortage of runs and a defeat against our friends and welcoming hosts in Croydon.
With all the celebrations at Stoke and in Coventry at the weekend, there was a slight delay in catching up with the admin, press reporting, records maintenance, etc. Time to catch up…
The match-winning unbroken partnership of 80 between James Corbishley and Matt Gottschalk against Godalming was a club record in the Surrey Championship, beating the one set in 2009 when Andy Page and Will Frost put on 77 against Wallington in May of that year. Friendly Match – Sunday 29th September 2013
Old Ashfordians 162 for 9 dec (38 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 164 for 6 (33.5 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon won by 4 wickets
Stoke’s Sunday XI completed a weekend win-double to end the 2013 season on a high. The result was even more satisfying as we had no fixture until Friday lunchtime when we received a call from our friends from Old Ashfordians were left short of a fixture, but were still given use of the ground by Shepperton, their original and traditional end of season opponents.
Sunday Friendly
Magpies 213 for 6 declared (39.4 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 171 all out (35.2 overs)
Magpies won by 42 runs
Stoke and the Magpies played out their annual fixture at the Rec that was bathed in sunshine but for a five minute shower during the first innings.
Surrey Trust League
Stoke D’Abernon 209 all out (40 overs)
Horley 171 all out (36.3 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon won by 38 runs
Drew Patrick reports…
Stoke batted first on a slow wicket.
It was difficult to get the ball off the square and a total of 209 looked pretty competitive. Dan Douthwaite scored a brisk 46, Lian Meyer a cautious but necessary 30, (in the context of the game.) Jack Raimondo came in at No.8 with six overs to go and scored a rapid fire 26, ably supported by Hugo Solway with 18.
