Stoke won by 36 runs
More history made as Stoke played their first match in the new ECB Under 19 T20 Blast, and a fine all-round performance saw a comprehensive 36 run win.

A chanceless unbeaten 115 from Ian Hopton – his first century for the club – was the cornerstone for another win for Stoke’s Sunday XI.

Stoke’s Sunday XI made their longest away trip of the season down to picturesque Ewhurst and registered an impressive 102 run victory.

A first half-century since July 2010 for Chris Finch and more runs for Giacomo Gray but Stoke’s Sunday XI fell to defeat at home to new opponents who travelled from High Wycombe; chasing down Stoke’s below par total thanks to a superb century by Buckfield.

Good availability meant Stoke ran a third Saturday side for the sixth time this season, (although one saying he could play then couldn’t, plus a player eligibility issue at 2nd XI level necessitating a call to the 2nd XI for another made things more of a struggle than originally planned.)

Victory target achieved after 7.5 overs but captains agree to continuation of Walton innings
Stoke and Walton played a return T20 friendly, firstly to continue burgeoning relations between the clubs, and secondly to get some time in the middle ahead of the forthcoming weekend’s fixtures after the weekend rain accounted for all the Saturday and Sunday action.

Stoke received an invite from Churchleigh after the close game the sides played out in July; however they ran into an impressive bunch of young Stoke players who all contributed to a huge win under the leadership of Jeremy Connell.

A tremendous run chase lifted Stoke’s 2nd XI into the promotion places at the half-way point in the League season on a warm day at the Rec.

With the two biggest sources of players for our Academy side having matches and functions, a huge effort was require to put together a side for this match. The Stoke spirit came to the fore again and the Academy delivered a 47 run win at the Rec.
