Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI, (10 points), beat Old Pauline 2nd XI, (0 points), on faster scoring rate

An all-round team effort saw Stoke’s 2nd XI retain top spot in Division 5 with a rain affected win against Old Paulines; the heavens opening with Stoke just 27 runs short of outright victory, but comfortably ahead of the required score with wickets in hand. Read more

After a wet start to the day Stoke proceeded to play Claygate as a part of their annual cricket week. Gavin Greese won the toss for Stoke and elected to bat, after waiting 20 minutes to get bails and a ball Sam Bradford-Smith and Adam Cooke started the innings off on a sticky pitch. Read more

Stoke 2s stay top with win against Farncombe

Jonny Lawes led Stoke D’Abernon to an 8th victory of the league season.

After acting skipper Falcon won the toss and chose to field; Bondi took a wicket in each of his first 2 overs; the first a simple catch lobbed up to Tufty, the second a ball which beat the batsman for pace as he could only play it on to his off stump. Po was back from injury in his usual place at the railway end, but with a shorter run up and even less pace than we’re used to and nearly had an early wicket too when visiting skipper Paterson was put down off the edge of his bat. Not long afterwards Bondi had a third, thanks to an edge held and Stoke were well in control with Farncombe on 26-3. Read more

Stoke D’Abernon’s 1st XI completed their preparations for their Surrey Championship programme with an impressive 37 run win away to Old Rutlishians; a team currently ranked two divisions above them; Ian Hopton leading a fine recovery after Stoke found themselves in a precarious position mid-way through their innings.
