‘Winning Draw’ to Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI

Half centuries from Steve Wade and Jase Earl helped Stoke’s second string recover from a precarious position, (88 for 6 at drinks), to post a total of 228. On a benign pitch, Gary Harkett, (4 for 73), and skipper Andy Page, (2 for 22), led the bowling effort; but the sides had to settle for a draw with the visitors well short of the ‘Winning Draw’ target. Stoke’s 2nd XI recorded a second win in as many weeks, chasing down ten man Hampton Wick Royal’s total with three balls to spare, the home side’s availability affected by the demands of the 1st XI. Read more

Alleyn & Honor Oak 2ndd XI won by 60 runs

Stoke’s second string did well to restrict a deep Alleyn & Honor Oak batting line up to 233 for 8 from 50 overs. Gary Harkett registered miserly figures of 10-3-18-2, the returning John Crisp took 3 for 61, Andy Page 2 for 42 and Moumer Khara 1 for 52. Read more

Stoke’s second string suffered defeat in the reverse fixture, but took many positives in defeat.

For the second week running, late drop-outs affected the selection; but a committed fielding effort, one man light, restricted the hosts to 187 for 8 in their allotted overs. Read more
