So the season is off and running and we started with a big win yesterday.
Now for some important admin. Sarah and Drew have collated the list of people from the senior and colts sections who have paid their annual sub and there is an alarming number of people who haven’t paid.

The most important outcome of the meeting was a decision to commence the construction of our Clubhouse extension in May, despite requiring another £65,000 to complete the project in full. Including grants, we have so far raised £135,000 and this will enable us to build the shell, leaving the fit-out until we have raised the remaining £65,000. Our decision to do this was based on the requirement to fix the price and avoid another price increase as a result of a delay.

As an incentive to encourage further donations to the clubhouse extension fund, (http://www.justgiving.com/sdacc/donate/), rates have remained the same as last year. Pleasingly some people who have already paid have made an overpayment for the clubhouse extension fund. Also, please consider Drew’s previous e-mail, offering members the chance to multiple years’ membership to help us get in the necessary funds. (We have had one colt’s parent kindly pay five years’ worth. Feel free to follow this example!)

This is a note for anyone who is a higher rate tax payer, is related to one or knows one who is when it comes to clubhouse donations…
Ali Mac writes: “I do not know if it is worth reminding donors that they can get some more tax relief on their own donations if they are higher rate taxpayers. I did a note last year copied below which is rather long winded – or it may just be easier to ask interested parties to give me a ring!
A gentle reminder that the End of Season Celebration is this Friday.
Jo & Drew will be opening the club from 6.30pm for anyone who wants to start their weekend early!
We’ve had queries from colts’ parents as to whether Friday is for them. Answer : Yes! You’re more than welcome to come down – the younger players have made a huge contribution to the season – look at the scorecards on our Play Cricket stats engine to back this up! – and it’s always a good for those who don’t get to interact with the senior sections due to other commitments to see how we operate.

I am delighted to confirm that we will be holding our end of season colts awards night on Friday 6th September. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the many highlights of our 2013 season. The clubhouse will be open from 6.00pm, the bar will be well stocked and food will be available from the BBQ.

After the Cricket on Saturday, we are planning on having a BBQ down at the club while we watch the Champions League Final.
The 2s have a home game, so come down and watch that, and then stay for some food and beer after. The 1s will be joining us after they have played their match and done their post-game socialising at Godalming.
