The recent AGM – overseen by new President Stephen Finch – was very much a case of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ following our excellent 2017 season, most of the roles and responsibilities for 2018 remaining unchanged. James Trower continues as Club Captain, likewise Jase Earl retains his role skippering the 2nd XI. Read more

On the subject of umpiring, the ECBACO has released a FREE on-line course for occasional umpires, specifically aimed to help those tasked with doing a stint of any length in any match, either standing at the bowler’s end or at square leg. Read more
Two weeks ago a large section of Stoke players and supporters were at Ripley to celebrate a 2nd XI win that completed a DOUBLE PROMOTION for both our Saturday League sides.

Whilst the Sunday XI were taking care of business in Thames Ditton, the Colts’ awards were being handed out at HQ.

Philip Jansen has decided to step down as President of our Club, having held the post for three years. He’s been a great help to me and has been a generous donor when we were raising funds to extend our clubhouse.
An increased turnout for this year’s AGM; a few watched the rugby ahead of the main event…
…and many more stopped back to have a few beers and some food afterwards.

With the Transfer Window open the Chairman sought out the availability of Chris Jordan and Moeen Ali for the 2016 when bumping into them – and Hoppy – on their break.
