Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 179 all out (48.3 overs)
Kempton 2nd XI 184 for 3 (24.2 overs)
Kempton 2nd XI won by 6 wickets

Stoke’s second string made a great start to this one but once the opposition got a foothold in the game and went on a roll they proved difficult to contain.

Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 153 for 9 (50 overs)
Ashford 2nd XI won by 41 runs

Stoke’s 2nd XI paid for a lack of match practice as much as anything and fell to an opening day defeat at Ashford.

Colts Awards – Sunday 3rd

Whilst the Sunday XI were taking care of business in Thames Ditton, the Colts’ awards were being handed out at HQ.

A good event considering the weather. Approximately 100 turned up, including some brave hungover seniors; Ian Hopton, Shawn Dyson, Dan Gluckman, Tom Frost, Will Frost, James Trower, Max Subba Row, Andy Berry, Jack Raimondo and Charlie Hill.

With results going their way last week it was time for Stoke’s 2nd XI to make use of that massive leg-up, and they did so in emphatic fashion with a strong performance against Champions-elect Chessington at the Rec.

Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI won by 32 runs (Revised target of 203 in 43 overs)

Stoke started the day at the bottom of a group of hopefuls for the second promotion spot along with runaway leaders Chessington, and did their cause no harm when the XI, missing a few first choice players including the Captain and Vice Captain, scored a superb win having lost the toss.
