Continued good availability, that saw the possibility of a second fixture at one point in the week, saw us secure this excellent fixture. Good job we didn’t book one as the availability gods then did their worst; the pool of eighteen available players went to ten with no regular keeper by the morning of the game with some new entries to the book of reasons for dropping out, and all pre-game planning to try to bat first went out of the window.
