Stoke’s Academy won their Surrey Trust League zone with victory over Alleyn & Honor Oak.

At tea, what was expected to be a comfortable win having dismissed a ten man opposition for 95 in just 27.3 overs, was anything but. An unbroken club Surrey Trust League record 9th wicket stand of 33 between Nico Spreeth, (13no), and Alex Bond, (25no), saw Stoke home. Read more

Stoke D’Abernon 207 all out (47.3 overs)
Merrow 208 for 5 (47.2 overs)
Merrow won by 5 wickets

Stoke’s erratic form continued as they slipped to a five wicket defeat at home to Merrow.

The visitors chose to field on winning the toss, appearing to be a bowler or two short of their normal compliment perhaps influencing the decision; but there was instant reward when Nick Lo was leg before to Hall to the second ball of the match. Read more

Surrey Championship Division 5
Godalming 189 all out (49.1 overs)

Stoke D’Abernon won by 6 wickets

A majestic century from Hiken Shah backed up an efficient bowling display as a depleted Stoke side cruised to a six wicket win over Godalming at the Rec. Cobham Avorians 78 for 4

Stoke D’Abernon won by 26 runs

Stoke’s senior players finally made it on to the field in a hastily arranged T20 fixture at Cobham Avorians.

The hosts worked wonders to get their ground playable, and to make sure light wasn’t a factor late on, the sides played out a reduced 16 over match; all the bowling from one end, and a mat covering the bowlers’ run ups to reduce injury. Read more

Woking & Horsell 210 for 9 (50 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 139 all out (36.4 overs)
Woking & Horsell won by 71 runs

For only the 2nd time since 2004 Stoke 2s went into the final day of the season with nothing to play for, safe in the knowledge that whatever the outcome of the match we would still be in Division 4 next season. Our hosts for this game, however, still needed to win to secure the Division 4 title. Read more

Despite dominating the first quarter of the match and dismissing Chipstead for 150, Stoke’s 2s were indebted to No.9 Alex Bond, who steered us to an important win by 2 wickets. Now, only a bizarre sequence of results will prevent us playing Division 4 cricket in 2012. Read more
