Stoke 2s record 4th consecutive win

Matt won the toss and elected to bat on a warm and muggy day. Ali Mac and Steve saw us off to a solid start and the run rate was good at 4.5 per over. Steve in particular was punishing anything with width and hit 9 boundaries on his way to 41. Having seen the opening bowlers off, the change bowlers started to slow the run rate. Steve had looked certain to record a half century, but came down the track to Nasir and found himself stumped for 41. Read more

Johnny Lawes writes : “…In the Horsley & Send Under 9 Tournament played on Monday 31st May the boys did fantastically well in winning the plate final, (beating the winners of the main competition, Teddington, in the group stages.) They played 5 games throughout the day and I can’t name a man of the tournament as they all played well and each contributing with bat and ball. It was a long day but great fun and boys were a credit to the club.” Read more

Having been asked to bat first there were quick runs for Malcolm Dickson – who passed 5,000 Stoke runs – on his way to 37, and Jonny Lawes who got a typically quick 30 before finding ourselves 108-5 in the 20th over. Read more

There will be no Monday or Thursday training at Parkside next week during half term. The sessions on Sunday morning are to continue at Stoke for the U8s and the U9s on Sunday 30th May and Sunday 6th June. The Parkside Academy ten week training course resumes as normal the week commencing Monday 7th June and there are 6 weeks remaining for those members paid up for the course. Read more

Ladies Latest – Another win for Stoke and more Surrey 1st XI selections


At the weekend the Stoke Ladies won their second match of the season against Ashford by 109 runs. Claire Trafford hit an unbeaten 120 and Rosie McEwing led the bowling effort with 3 for 25.
