An update on the Under 9s from Johnny Lawes…

A great weekend and the league side remains unbeaten in both the league and cup competition.

Friday 14th May v Cranleigh (Cup) – Won by 163 runs

A long way to go for a 6pm start on a Friday night. The boys batted first and set a huge score of 331 with everyone in the runs with a mention to Charlie for scoring 27 and Oscar and Tom L scoring 19 each.

League game v Esher May 7
Esher 299, Stoke 238
All bowled well, (Jake, Daniel, Alex N, George picked up 2 wickets), and we would have restricted them more if we had held our catches better. Batting was tough as there bowling was good and they had a great keeper and it was dark. George and Alex H stood out.

“…A first win against Thames Ditton CC in the Under 9s league. Thames Ditton batted first and were held to 219 with some excellent bowling and fielding. Alfie Broomfield and Tom Lawes picking up 2 wickets each, direct hit run outs from Alfie and Oscar Jensen, (twice), and wides and no-balls restricted to single figures. In return Stoke scored 262 with the boys only losing 2 wickets. Charlie Neat and Ollie Muir started the innings with a partnership of 16 and were followed by Oscar top scoring with 13.
