Stoke in International T20 Action on Tuesday 17th August, 11am start

We are pleased to announce that we have arranged a T20 fixture against the CIMA Toronto Mayor’s XI for Tuesday 17th August as part of their 2010 tour to the UK.

The Toronto Mayor’s XI will be in London from August 14th to August 23rd, and this is their third annual UK tour. Their tour co-ordinator is Ranil Mendis and their squad is made up of 16-22 year old Asian and Caribbean Canadians…with a bus driver supplied by Chessington CC!

Stoke’s Academy qualified for one of the Surrey Trust League competition semi-finals with victory at Beddington. Victory over Ashtead at the Rec in their final zonal match will see them qualify for the main competition semi-finals as zone winners. Ashtead, however, have the same brief.

Stoke’s Sunday XI lost a thriller at the Rec with all results possible on the final ball.

The visitors chose to bat and registered a total of 207 for 6 from their 40 overs. Brothers Richie and Robbie Parrett appeared in a Stoke side together for the first time since July 2009, and each took two wickets; Richie taking bragging rights with 2 for 33 versus 2 for 45 in their allotted eight over spells. There was a wicket each for Adam Cooke and Rod Thomson. Gregory top scored with 70.

Having thrashed Chertsey in the previous week’s match, Stoke’s 1st XI took their good form in to this week’s match at Thames Ditton, comprehensively outplaying their opponents to secure a 9 wicket victory.

Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 79 for 4 (20.4 overs)

Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI, (10 points), beat Old Pauline 2nd XI, (0 points), on faster scoring rate

An all-round team effort saw Stoke’s 2nd XI retain top spot in Division 5 with a rain affected win against Old Paulines; the heavens opening with Stoke just 27 runs short of outright victory, but comfortably ahead of the required score with wickets in hand.

Bank Holiday Monday 30th August 2010 – 30 Over Sponsors' Day Match inc Guest Stars

We have organised a ‘fun day’ for Monday, with a Stoke team playing a 30 Over match against a sponsors’ team. 

The Stoke team will be led by Jack Raimondo and will include Amy Page and Sophie Pout, both of whom scored league centuries for the Ladies Team last Sunday. The sponsors team will be led by Duncan Howorth and will include Grant Flower and Paul Prichard, both from Essex CCC, plus Roy Johns who has played for our club for 53 years!
