Congratulations to Steve Wade and James Corbishley on registering the first of what we hope are many century partnerships this season.
This takes the total number of recorded century stands in senior cricket to 319. This is the fifth time Steve has made it on to the list. James becomes one of the younger new additions to the list, which can be viewed in full here : SDCC Century Partnerships Read more

Ashtead 2nd XI 143 for 9 (34 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon won on Superior Run Rate
A day to remember for Matt Gottschalk as he marked his 100th appearance for Stoke – his first as new Club Captain – with a career best score, a good catch in the deep and a good response from the players, all of whom left a positive contribution on the scorecard in a big win. Read more
Stoke DAbernon 2nd XI 208-8 (40 overs)
Leatherhead 2nd XI 212-2 (37.4 overs)
The 2nd XI suffered a disappointing loss to their Leatherhead counterparts this afternoon on one of the warmest April days we’ve seen for many years.
Having won the toss Crispy decided to make first use of a good looking track, but we were pegged back early on when Peter and JT, (who once again played some attractive strokes), were both out early on. Read more

Newdigate CC v Stoke D’Abernon – Sunday 17 April 2011
The first Sunday match of the season produced a very entertaining tie at Newdigate, in which both teams were on top for periods, but neither could finish the opposition off.
Having arrived with only 10 men available this early in the year, we were fortunate to discover that the home side had 12. We were given spin bowler Matt Dilger for the day. Malcolm won the toss and decided to bat first, with the weather expected to cloud over as the day went on. Read more

Streatham & Marlborough 176 for 9 (40 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon won by 28 runs
Both sides failed to build on good positions at their mid-innings drinks breaks; but in the end it was Stoke’s blend of older heads and a keen younger generation that saw them home to a 28 run victory at the Rec. Read more

Our first matches of the season are scheduled for April 16th and 17th, so I am writing to ask for volunteers to help with the usual pre-season preparations. We need to clean and repair the sightscreens, put the netting on the frames for the astro and mobile nets, clean the garage out etc. This will only take a few hours if we have sufficient volunteers, so please try and give some of your time to help us get the jobs done.
