Stoke survived a late scare to register a victory in the final match of the 2015 season.

On a warm and sunny late September afternoon negotiations to bat first went well for a change, (the offer of a loan fielder whilst a couple of latecomers in the home team arrived helped), so Malcolm Dickson and Moumer Khara were tasked with setting the platform in a 35 over contest. Read more

Sunday Cricket Washed Out

No cricket today as the rain finally caught up with us and caused our first washouts of the year.

The Stoke Rec was marginal at best, and another heavy shower this morning put paid to any chances of play, (the morning Under 12 match was also called off); so the next action at the Rec will be on Tuesday evening when the Stoke Under 19s host Esher in a must win T20 Blast match. Firstly some thank-yous in light of some late call-ups to the Trust League. To Jase Earl, Duncan Elder and Danny Broomfield for making themselves available late in the day to ensure we had a full XI, Danny in particular subbing in for original selection Alfie B! Jo P still provided a sandwich service, and the players themselves hastily added provisions to bulk up the tea. Read more
