2nd XI fall just short in big run chase at Ripley

Ripley 2nd XI won by 32 runs

Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 90 for 0 (16.3 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI won by 10 wickets

Stoke’s 2nd XI were back to winning ways with an easy win at Oxshott who continue to re-build and show signs of improvement from last year. Read more

2nd XI lose to Alleyn

Alleyn 2nd XI 161 for 8 (48.5 overs)
Alleyn 2nd XI won by 2 wickets

After beating table-topping Guildford City last week, Stoke’s 2nd XI undid that good work with a clumsy home defeat to struggling Alleyn who won the middle over sections of each innings to help them take the points. Read more

Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 2nd XI won by 7 wickets

A superb all-round team performance where all eleven players left something positive on the scorecard saw Stoke’s 2s become the first ever Stoke XI to record a league victory at the Kings College Sports Ground. Read more

Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 134 all out (40.2 overs)
Chertsey 2nd XI Won by 56 runs

Stoke’s 2nd XI did well to dismiss Chertsey’s 2s on a hot day at the Rec, but were unable to chase down the target they set themselves and suffered a second defeat in as many weeks. Read more

Chessington 2nd XI 117 for 1 (26.5 overs)
Chessington 2nd XI Won by 9 wickets

Stoke’s patched-up 2nd XI ran into a well-drilled, promotion challenging Chessington outfit with inevitable consequences. Once again the Team Secretary had a world of adventures in the week helping to put an XI together, and a big vote of thanks to those who made themselves available and in some cases altered plans as holidays, school sports days and Glastonbury(!) savaged the pool of available regular players. Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 162 for 7 (51 overs)
Match Drawn – ‘Winning Draw’ to Hampton Wick Royal 2nd XI

Stoke’s 2nd XI extended their unbeaten run with a draw against Hampton Wick Royal at the Rec; but were left to regret an inconsistent first hour or so with the ball that made victory an unlikely proposition. Read more

Ripley leap-frogged Stoke’s 2nd XI into second place in the table, but but only Guildford City have clear water, (aided by another Maori Oxshott concession), as this draw prevented Ripley from pulling away from a large pack of clubs all within a win of a top two spot themselves. Read more
