This is one for anyone who currently captains a Stoke side at any level, has done in the past or might expected to in the future. The closing date is the 15th June 2016.
To launch the
Get the Game On Captains’ Club the ECB is offering present, past and future captains, their friends, and captains across any League they play in, (Surrey Championship, Surrey Trust League, Under 19T20 Blast, Womens & Girls tournaments), plus friendly cricket, the opportunity to win an evening with Michael Vaughan at the Kia Oval on the 13th July 2016.
The winners and their selected guests will spend a fantastic evening listening and asking questions to the former Ashes winning England Captain and “Get the Game On” Ambassador sharing stories from throughout his 20 years of playing club, county and international cricket.
The Captains’ Club is an on-line resource specifically for captains providing top tips for before, during and after game day, advice on how best to use your current League rules and solutions about what to do if your game is affected by the weather. It also includes useful downloads and blogs from club captains who will be sharing their experiences during this season with the ultimate aim of helping captains “Get the Game On.”

What is “Get the Game On” all about?
“Get the Game On” is an ECB campaign designed to boost participation in grassroots cricket. It needs everyone – players, captains, coaches, umpires, groundsmen and volunteers – to take an active role in the campaign and play their part in ensuring that as many games as possible are completed each season.

Why has “Get the Game On” been introduced?
Captains are key people on game day. Using insight gathered from players, ECB has created a free on-line Captains’ Club to help captains get more games of cricket played where it’s safe to do so.
The Club is divided into advice, guidance and support for captains before, during and after the game’ including how best to use current league rules, what to do if the game is affected by the weather and blogs from captains across league cricket sharing their experiences.
