Sunday – Three matches and much fun

A busy day at a sun-drenched Rec that saw three matches and the till ringing with bucket hat and other sales, competitions and raffles.

After a colts’ 50-ball match in the morning, there were two other games for people to watch whilst the day, set up to help raise funds towards the nets, was in full swing. Read more

Awards 2023

Following the conclusion of the League season the players assembled at the Bob Willis Pavilion for the end of season awards. As always, in the event of anyone putting in stellar performances in the September friendly programme, some of those named below run the risk of having their trophies cruelly taken away, but here’s how the night panned out. Surrey Championship Division 2
Stoke D’Abernon 47 all out (19 overs)
Worcester Park 48 for 2 (10 overs)
Worcester Park won by 8 wickets

Needing a win to boost their chances of survival Worcester Park made short work of a Stoke side who registered their lowest ever total in the Surrey Championship; only Oliver Trower, (20 not out), making it to double figures after Stoke were inserted. Read more

Hampton Hill 2nd XI 237 for 7 (50 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 2nd XI 186 all out (43.2 overs)
Hampton Hill 2nd XI won by 51 runs

The simple maths of this one was that one of the opposition scored 111 and one partner, with whom he shared a stand of 107 for the 4th wicket, also bettered Stoke’s highest scorer, (45), and no others made it past 35. Read more
