Bob Willis article

From one Willis story to another.

SDCC was with the in-laws at the weekend and a copy of “Amateur Soccer” from December 1968, (Volume 2, No 4 to be precise, and retailing at 2s 6d – a massive 12.5p!), started to do the rounds. Jeremy wins Stoke Poker Event 2

With Greg Routley unable to defend his title, the latest poker tournament was won by Jeremy Connell; who defeated Adrian Mills in a final heads-up battle; an ace on the flop hanging on.

Stoke Molesey Ladies end Indoor League early to plan for Outdoor Domination

Jon Elworthy has penned the following and is asking for YOUR HELP!!!

Dear All

I have taken an “executive” decision to pull out of the remaining two indoor matches for the U13s. This is due to several reasons, one being the fact that Pagie and I are both unavailable this week and that the title and runners up place have already been secured by others. I have enjoyed the games, but Andy and I have both struggled with the organisation of teams every week. We are keen to put in a team again next year but this will be dependent on the number of girls who join the Girls section and the number that put themselves forward for weekly selection. I know that the timing, 5.30pm on a Friday was difficult for many, as was the concept of playing cricket in the middle of winter. Andy and I would like to thank “the regulars” who attended week in, week out. I hope you enjoyed the competition and I think towards the end of the season we were giving each side we played a really good game. I know that one of the team is up for an award, which is no mean feat in our first year against competition that included many Surrey CAG boys. So well done everyone involved. I will let you know when the awards night is happening. Read more
