What a great day for English cricket! England win the T20 World Cup in Barbados and the Under 17s start their season with a win!
Sunday morning at Stoke HQ was slightly different from the weather in Barbados! Grey, overcast, cold, very occasional burst of sunshine and a good attempt at rain…a fairly typical English summer’s day! A little local knowledge helped Stoke enormously. Thanks to the groundsman, who advised that the wicket was a slow, low bouncing track that would take spin. He advised batting first to take maximum advantage of the higher bounce that the new ball would offer. John lost the toss and Leatherhead put Stoke in to bat.
