Stoke put out a home side as well as an away side this Sunday and the 9 players of Stoke beat 10 of Epsom Methodist CC by 15 runs in a closely fought and enjoyable encounter. Read more

For 2 weekends in a row this July I was unavailable for cricket due to friends getting married on consecutive Saturdays. I knew this well in advance so I decided to sign up to twitter in order to follow Stoke’s progress in my absence.

Stoke 1s disappointed with loss to Chertsey

So the game finished and we lost. Disappointing, but that doesn’t tell the story.

First of all by the time we got to the bar after the game the scorebook was missing. Working on the assumption that one of the oppo may have taken it to copy it up and somehow neglected to leave it behind your correspondent gave Greg, (Chertsey CC captain), a call. Long overdue half century for Raimondo and Trower power as 1st XI beat Sanderstead

Two wins out of two for Stoke’s 1st XI as they restricted Sanderstead to 205 for 6 in 50 overs, then chased the runs down for the loss of just five wickets with twelve balls to spare to claim a win and a bonus point. Read more
