Toby’s story : “After watching several, admittedly much fitter and healthier, friends run the London Marathon in recent years I have decided to have a go myself. So almost immediately after the Marathon ended last year I requested a spot in 2018 before I had time to talk myself out of it. I’m an incredibly lanky and slow individual so expect me to be nearer the back running alongside the elderly and people dressed as Spongebob than up front with the professionals but I am going to train and hopefully not embarrass myself too much. The charity Global’s Make Some Noise is a beautiful organisation which helps smaller charities right up and down the UK. There are so many charities nowadays, which is not exactly a bad thing! But it does mean some brilliant causes struggle to get noticed above all the competition. Make Some Noise finds these charities and gives them the help that their hard work deserves. So if you were able to dig into your pocket and donate it would mean a huge amount. Doesn’t matter how small, it all counts! Also, this should mean that Radio X can’t realistically fire me until at least after the Marathon.”
On another media outlet he has also said : “I’ve got a girlfriend, a tattoo and now I’m running the marathon. The mid-life crisis at the age of just 26, is nearly complete. If you know me well, (or at all), you’ll know how out of character attempting this is. So it would mean an awful lot if you would at least make my mental breakdown worthwhile and donate towards this brilliant charity. Thanks!”
