Travelbag Surrey Championship Division 4
Byfleet 108 all out (26.1 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 110 for 4 (12.2 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon won by 6 wickets
Stoke’s 1st XI needed less than 39 overs of playing time to complete their season; skittling Byfleet for 108 and taking just 12.2 overs to knock off the runs.
Richards and Tyler added 36 for the first wicket, but first change Shawn Dyson removed them both, and took three more to finish with 5 for 25, including Byfleet’s Overseas and the division’s leading run-scorer Gandy for a duck.
There was a wicket each for Charlie Hill, Will Frost and Ian Hopton before Toby Tarrant, (4.1-1-8-2), closed the innings.
In reply Stoke were 44 for 4 as a couple of players got starts but didn’t go on, one of whom was Adrian Taylor who was back in Stoke and getting a game in before he returns full-time next year.
James O’Gorman, (24 not out), and Dyson, (46 not out including 22 in one over), made sure the season ended on a high by knocking off the rest in very quick time, victory secured with 37.4 overs to spare.
A great end to a great League programme. Now for some friendly matches.
