Under 9s do well despite defeat to League Leaders

Sunday 9th July 2017
West Surrey Youth Cricket League Under 9 North
Stoke D’Abernon U9 114 for 9
Teddington U9 151 for 10
Teddington U9 won by 37 runs

Match report from Mark Bullingham…

Stoke won the toss and elected to bat first. Teddington proved to be a top class bowling attack, probably the best that we’ve faced all season. The boys really concentrated well to reach the total they did. For the second match in a row there were no run outs which is real progress! The standout performer was Luke W, stepping up from U8. His 17 runs included a huge six to mid-wicket.

Teddington then batted and despite a really solid bowling and fielding performance they powered to their win. The highlight for Stoke was pinning their final pair to a net score of -1 with some really disciplined bowling, despite knowing the game was gone.

Overall the boys played really well and supported each other throughout, but were beaten by a better team.
