Stoke D’Abernon Advent Calendar 2016 (22)

A 22nd different name appeared on our Player of the Year trophy in 2016.
James Miller…

…wasted little time racking up the poles, taking 6 for 24 on debut and going on to take 43 wickets, (all in the League), at 12.63 with a best of 7 for 35 against Chertsey.

Add in some useful contributions down the order with the bat, his time working with players at all levels of the Club and doing all jobs around the Clubhouse and on the square, to say he was a very popular acquisition is an understatement.

During the season he was also summoned to The Oval to help net bowl ahead of the Test Match against Pakistan. Sky Sports News cameras picked him up:

…our guess is he had more chance of playing in that match than Adil Rashid!
