Surrey Championship Fixtures Released for 2017

The Surrey Championship have released the League fixtures for the 2017 season.

The 1st XI start life in Division 4 at home to Woking & Horsell but like last year the other three early 50-over matches are away, although not far away. Six of the nine ‘timed’ format matches are at home, and there are also two home games to complete the season.

The 2nd XI start at Kingstonian, and then have three home games on the spin. The majority of the ‘timed’ format matches, (if the split format continues at 2nd XI level), are away. In contrast to the 2016 season the computer has handed us the shortest away trip to close the season.

We will map in the pre & post-League friendly fixtures soon.

Followers of the Surrey Championship web-site and Twitter feeds will have seen that there is a proposal for all League fixtures to start at 12 Noon. Stay tuned for details of what changes are voted for at the League AGM; other proposed changes on the table are moving all 2nd XI matches to a 50:50 format; and in the case of any timed games, placing a limitation on the proportion of overs a bowler a can send down.
