Under 10s Progress in Cup

Sunday 5th June 2016
Mid-Surrey Colts League Under 10 Cup Quarter Final
Stoke D’Abernon U10 162 for 2 (20 overs)
Old Wimbledonians U10 64 for 6 (20 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon U10 won by 98 runs

Match report from Kevin Morgan:

Stoke played very well on a big pitch to secure a comfortable win. Three of our batters merit special mention, each passing the 25 runs retirement mark. Theo S played with superb control as the bedrock of the Stoke innings, eventually retiring, (28 runs), with three overs to go. Oliver B, (28 runs), and brother Charlie, (27 runs), both batted with panache, hitting nine fours between them.

Having not got to bat, Max B, Louis J, Seb S and Max P shared the bulk of the early bowling duties and all bowled well. Max P ended his second over with back to back wickets. Returning for the final over he almost took a hat-trick only just unable to hold on to a fizzy return from his first ball. Great work from wicket keeper Jared H however ensured two run outs in Max’s final over however. Seb S delivered a wicket courtesy of a catch form Jack R, and James M bowled the other wicket.

Full credit to our opponents who struggled with availabilities but pulled a team together. We face the same opposition in the league next week.

Meanwhile our Gladys Chitty opponents Westcott were unable themselves to muster a team, a new fixture date has been agreed.
