Cover Point

With thoughts turning to Alan’s funeral tomorrow, one of many things he did for the membership – before the days of the internet and other instant messaging and social media, (and the  Play Cricket network) – was to produce “Cover Point” – a periodic newsletter that was posted to all members.

Ralphie has dug out an edition from 1994 for us. Note the number of Stokers still playing today that feature in the commentary.

Alan’s passion for the Club and that things be done the right way shine through; and the fact that to this day we uphold a number of the values and behaviours he quotes has seen us continue to grow in a competitive environment without losing our identity; resulting in people joining us, staying with us and recommend us.
