Dave Harry visits Stoke

Former Stoker, (and Parksider), Dave Harry was back in the UK recently and popped in to HQ to take in the 1s game and catch up with a few old friends. (Luckily for him the 2s had made short work of Oxshott’s 2s so he got to see quite a few familiar faces.)

He is back in Australia now, (with the future Mrs.Harry – proposed whilst in the UK), and has penned this message for everyone:

G’day!

I apologise for the late response. We flew out the day after I visited Stoke and since I’ve been back I’ve hit the ground running with work.

Was great to have had the moment in England…especially given Laura’s very strong family ties to the country.

I cannot believe the stats and information you keep at Stoke. Very impressive.

I’ll be sure to order myself a Stoke cap as a memento and perhaps to wear if and when we decide to head back to England to work/live for a while.

After having not played a full season of cricket since I left England, (and that wasn’t even a full season as I took off to Europe for 7-8 weeks), I have decided to make a comeback to cricket this year. About to start training at my old club, East Doncaster Cricket Club, in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Stay well.

Cheers and thank you again. Will be sure to encourage people to play at Stoke if they come over.

Here is how Dave, who made it on to our 100s board during his time with us, did for us.
