Sunday 14th June 2015
Surrey Trust League Surrey Women – Gold Division
Rowledge CC Womens 1st XI 104 for 3 (25 overs)
Stoke Molesey Ladies 105 for 3 (18.4 overs)
Stoke Molesey Ladies won by 7 wickets

Amy has taken time out from her busy schedule, (that included preparation for and participation in the Men’s Surrey Championship at the weekend), to pen this report on the recent victory over Rowledge…

Rowledge won the toss and chose to bat, putting Stoke Molesey in the field. Charlotte and Rosie opened the bowling with Charlotte taking the first wicket in her second over. Rowledge’s number three bat Marshall went in next, and together with Tehan built a strong partnership of 93, despite facing good bowling from Rosie, Meg and Katie.

After escaping a couple of run out chances and catches, Tehan was run out by Rosie on 31, breaking the Rowledge partnership. Rowledge’s Marshall soon retired there after, and Charlotte finished off the first innings with two more wickets in the 25th over, leaving the final score of the innings to be 104 for 4.

After Tea, Rowledge took to the field with only eight players, despite Stoke Molesey offering them two fielders. Meg and Rosie strode out to open the batting, but unfortunately Megs wicket fell in the first over and Rosie’s in the third. Page and Charlotte went in at number three and four and both blocked the good ball and punished the bad. Page retired on 35 runs and Katie went in.

After a fantastic knock Charlotte retired on 35, one of her best ever innings for Stoke Molesey. Katie was then bowled by Forward, the score now being 87 for 3 off 15.

Anya and Emma went in at six and seven respectively with the combination of Emma hitting the ball hard around the field and Anya hitting the gaps, the pair finished off the game achieving the target score of 105 runs for 3 off 19 overs, winning by 7 wickets.

Stoke Molesey showed impressive skill with the bat and ball throughout the game, by demonstrating clever shot placement and quick running between the wickets. A good win girls with impressive fielding by Angelise, Mikalea, Louise and Jane, but the extras totalled at 36 so we need to work on tightening up the bowling for our next match.
