3rd XI win at Blackheath

3rd XI Friendly
Stoke D’Abernon 3rd XI 228 for 6 (40 overs)
Blackheath 3rd XI 197 for 7 (40 overs)
Stoke D’Abernon 3rd XI won

Stoke were able to raise a third side, (just about!), at the weekend and received an invite from Blackheath, the match sourced by Stoke Chairman Drew Patrick who was in a meeting with the opposition’s Chairman earlier in the week. They were more than welcoming hosts and kindly provided a couple of players to complete the XI after late-drop-out-itis struck again.

There were half-centuries for Stephen Anderson, (71), and Alastair Curran, (61), as Stoke posted a 40-over total of 228 for 6.

In reply, wickets were shared around as the visitors were held to 197 for 7; Jay Atwal took 2 for 22, Ed Ashwell 2 for 35 and Greg Routley 1 for 15 led the way, although loanee Tom Chambers took out two of his own club members in a five over spell.

Thanks to Jeremy Connell, Stephen Anderson and Malcolm Dickson for running this fixture.
