Messages of Congratulations pour in for the 2nd XI

We’ve fielded a few messages of congratulations sent to the 2nd XI:

John Crisp, whose work commitments restricted him to just the opening game of the season this year, has penned the following:

“…Dear Pagie and all the Stoke 2s

A huge congratulations on a fantastic season and particularly on achieving promotion with time to spare!!!

Apologies for being a stranger as have had so much on over the last few months, but have followed progress via the website. Promotion after last year’s shambles is truly remarkable.

Amazing what a change of skipper can do!

Well done again and maybe see you next season, but probably not good enough based on all your sterling efforts.

Cheers
John”

News has reached Canada. Chris Gudgeon writes:

“…Well done to the second team. Also loved the piece on the standard of teas…I remember about 20 years ago not been given a tea there at all. Hope availability is good this weekend…huge game for the First Team!!!”

…and Moscow(!!!) where Ian Wellman has been tuning in:

“…Well done to the 2s!! Must have been a great evening at the Club on Saturday.

Good luck again on Saturday, let’s hope that the Mathematical “Gods” are smiling on Stoke.

I’m back from Eastern Europe this week , so may drop in to the Club on Saturday.

Good luck again!!!”

Adam Cooke also writes:

“I was going to e-mail people this afternoon and say a big congratulations to the club for another promotion having now had a chance to look at the site this week! I would ask how things are going down south but it seems as though things are going from strength to strength at the moment.

I’d love to make a trip down, (for this Saturday’s post league curry), and should be there for 7/7.30 ish.”

As we get more messages, we’ll add them here…
